An SSL certificate is a digital certificate that:
1. Authenticates the identity of a Web site to visiting browsers

2. Encrypts traffic between the web Server and the web browser using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.

We get daily a lot of questions about installing GoDaddy SSL certificate in IIS7 (Windows Server 2008). The installation process is similar, and we will demonstrate it in a Step-by-Step fashion.

In the following Screencast, we demonstrate how to install GoDaddy SSL certificate on a Windows Server 2008 running IIS7.

Step 1 In the first step, we will generate a Certificate Signing Request – CSR using IIS7 manager.

Step 2 In this step, you can see how to submit your CSR to GoDaddy.com. Then, we will approve the CSR and check the status of the certificate.

Step 3 In the last step, we will download the ZIP file with all the necessary certificates – GoDaddy Intermediate and Cross Intermediate certificate, and our SSL certificate.
