Changing the screen resolution in Hyper-V virtual machines running Linux OS turns to be a well known problem. Moreover, depending on the guest OS, the solution is different. We’ve already demonstrated how to change the screen resolution in CentOS and Red Hat Hyper-V Virtual Machines in the following video <\/a>\"How<\/a><\/strong>, <\/p>\n

In this short video, we demonstrate how to change the screen resolution in Ubuntu Hyper-V Virtual Machines. For your convenience, we provide the commands that we are using in the video:
\n# Use “sudoedit” to modify the “\/etc\/default\/grub” file
\n# for the Microsoft Hyper-V Synthetic Video Frame Buffer driver
\nsudoedit \/etc\/default\/grub
\n# Modify the “GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT” line passing the video argument with the required resolution
\n# for the Microsoft Hyper-V Synthetic Video Frame Buffer driver
\nGRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=”quiet splash video=hyperv_fb:1024×768″
\n# Apply the changes to the grub.cfg
\nsudo update-grub
