When I dug around it turned out that there is a lot of contradicting information about the process of installing and configuring MySQL and\u00a0PHP based applications\u00a0in IIS7. In addition the situation gets more complicated because there is a difference when you do this on a x32\u00a0and on a x64 platform.<\/p>\n<p>In short, I decided to demonstrate\u00a0in a series of\u00a0Screencasts the whole process of installing some of the most popular PHP and MySQL based applications (bot on x32 and x64 platforms)\u00a0&#8211; starting with Joomla!\u00a0and Wordpress.<\/p>\n<p>The first\u00a0video tutorial is about installing Joomla! on Windows Server 2008.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"alignleft\" title=\"How to install Joomla in IIS7, Windows Server 2008\" href=\"https:\/\/www.netometer.com\/video\/tutorials\/windows-2008-iis7-joomla-php-mysql-fastcgi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Joomla in IIS7\" src=\"https:\/\/www.netometer.com\/blog-pics\/Joomla-php-mysql-iis7.gif\" width=\"490\" height=\"444\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A separate video step is dedicated for the installation and configuration of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IIS7 (Web Server Role in Windows Sevrer 2008)<\/li>\n<li>MySQL<\/li>\n<li>PHP using FastCGI &#8211; this is the recommended approach in IIS7 as it combines both performance and stabilty.
