Enabling Forms-Based Authentication for Outlook Web Access, FBA, provides additional client and security options to the users. It is very easy to enable FBA and this option should be seriously considered.
By default FBA requires SSL connection. You could purchase and install SSL certificate, or follow the instructions in the following screencast How to Install a Self Signed Certificate for IIS.
